Lexus announced the UK pricing and range details of the 2019 ES, which is set to replace the GS in its lineup and therefore making it the first Lexus ES to be offered in the UK.
The UK range of the new Lexus ES is divided into three trim levels: the base ES, the ES F Sport and the range-topping ES Takumi.
The ES 300h is powered by the company’s fourth-generation hybrid powertrain that pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined 215hp. Lexus claims that the new ES 300h returns a combined fuel economy of 60.1 mpg UK.
The new Lexus ES is based on the new front-drive GA-K platform, which uses various grades of high-tensile steel to reduce weight and offers “exceptional rigidity” according to the company. A V-brace behind the rear seat and a new multi-link rear suspension design give the new ES a “new-found precision” in its handling.
Prices start from £35,150 for the base model, which comes with the second-gen Lexus Safety System+ as standard. The Lexus ES F Sport starts from £38,150 and adds things like an adaptive sports suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, F Sport seats and sportier details inside and out.
The range-topping Lexus ES Takumi is priced from £45,650, offering adaptive LED headlights, triple-zone air-conditioning, a 12.3-inch display for the infotainment system, a 360-degree camera and a Mark Levinson premium surround audio system, among others.
Order books for the new Lexus ES in the UK will officially open on October 1 but retailers across the country are also accepting pre-orders now. First deliveries are scheduled for January 2019.
