The co-founder of Radical Sportscars, Phil Abbott, has launched a new brand, dubbed Revolution Racecars, that’s working on a potent track car.
Previewed in the teaser above, the first vehicle from Revolution Racecars will be underpinned by a carbon fiber monocoque made in Germany and “developed and built by racers for racers.” Work on the vehicle is still in its early stages, but the new carmakers says it will weigh just 675 kg (1488 lbs) and offer thrilling performance.
Driving the, as yet unnamed, vehicle will be a Ford-sourced 3.7-liter V6 sourced tuned to provide 300 hp that’s, according to the automaker, is strong enough to cover more than 6000 miles (9600 km) of racing mileage before needing a rebuild. Coupled to this engine will be a six-speed sequential transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. This gearbox will come from 3MO, the company responsible for transmissions used in rally, hillclimb, prototype, rallycross and other race cars.
The new track car will also have a radical design. Among the key features will be a narrow single-seater cabin suspended between the two axles in a somewhat similar fashion to the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
Up front, it includes a prominent splitter, thin vertical headlights, and wheel arches somewhat reminiscent of those from the Roborace concept. At the rear, there’s a pair of air intakes that feed the engine with cool air and a rear wing.
Revolution Racecars will release further details and images of the car next month before the vehicle’s public debut in early November.
