Acura told us that the big reveal of its flagship sedan concept would take place at the New York International Auto Show at 1:50 PM (EST), but the first official image of the car we will come to know as the RLX has already hit the interwebs, courtesy of the VWvortex forum members.

We only have a single image in our hands right now, but from what we can tell, like many other recent Honda and Acura concepts such as the Detroit Show Accord Coupe, the RLX is virtually production ready.

The RLX, which will replace the aging RL in Acura’s lineup, seems to borrow its design DNA from the smaller ILX sedan, albeit with the wheel arch kink flipped the other way around.

We remain short on specifications, but we do know that the RLX will employ Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system. Honda has previously said that the system combines a 3.5-liter V6 to a pair of 20kW+ motors on both sides for the rear wheels, though we don’t know yet it if will be used in this form on the RLX.

More to come, so stay tuned.
