The Paris Motor Show is less than a week away and GAC Motor is preparing for the event by releasing the first teaser images of the all-new GS5.
Looking relatively stylish, the sketches reveal the model will follow in the footsteps of the smaller GS3 and GS4. Starting up front, the crossover has a prominent grille that is flanked by slender headlights and large air intakes with horizontal fog lights.
Moving further back, we can see plastic body cladding and a rakish windscreen. The GS5 also features a stylish character line, dynamic bodywork and two-tone alloy wheels. Other notable highlights include a slopping roofline and a distinctive D-pillar.
Rounding out the styling features are a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a ‘floating roof.’ Lastly, the crossover has slender taillights and a bright skid plate.
GAC didn’t say much about the crossover, but Car.ru posted pictures of the production model and the images suggest the crossover will feature upscale styling. Little is known about technical specifications, but the publication says the GS5 could have a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with outputs of 152 hp (113 kW / 154 PS) and 169 hp (126 kW / 171 PS).
Regardless of the final numbers, the GS5 will be shown alongside the GA4, GS4, GS8 and GM8. GAC says these models will help the company to “build a strong brand image in Europe, which is a big step towards its goal of building a world-class brand and global company.”
