Following a preview earlier this month, Nissan has officially unveiled the 2019 Titan and Titan XD at the Texas State Fair.
Billed as the “most refined Titan yet,” the pickup has a familiar design as the only exterior change is a revised color palette that now includes Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine.
Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the 2019 Titan and Titan XD now come standard with a 7-inch NissanConnect infotainment system featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It replaces the previous 5-inch color audio display.
Besides the infotainment system, the trucks gain an additional USB media port and a pair of illuminated USB-A charging ports on PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve variants. Nissan’s Rear Door Alert system, which reminds drivers to check the rear seats for children, is also standard King Cab and Crew Cab models.
The final update for 2019 is a new Fender premium audio system. It features 10 to 12 speakers, a nine-channel amplifier and a subwoofer.
While Nissan has been promising to offer a V6 engine for years, there’s no sign of it for 2019. As a result, all Titan models are powered by a familiar 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 390 hp (290 kW / 395 PS) and 394 lb-ft (533 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission which can be paired with an optional four-wheel drive system.
The 5.6-liter V8 engine is also standard on the 2019 Titan XD. However, the model is also available with a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8 engine that develops 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 555 lb-ft (751 Nm) of torque.
The 2019 Nissan Titan will go on sale this fall and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
