The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima will go on sale in the United States on October 3 with a $23,750 starting price, $490 more than the previous base model’s MSRP.

The price corresponds to the base Altima S 2.5 front-wheel-drive version, while the Altima S 2.5 all-wheel-drive starts at $25,100. Both prices exclude an $895 destination and handling charge.

The new midsize sedan is available in five trim levels: S, SR, SV, SL, and Platinum. All five feature a 188-hp 2.5-liter engine that can be mated to Nissan’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. 2019 Altima SR and Platinum models can also be had with the optional 248-hp 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine that’s only available with front-wheel drive.

Besides the five grades, Nissan is also offering a launch edition model called 2019 Altima Edition One. Based on the Platinum VC-Turbo, it will be available in limited numbers with a $35,750 starting price.

Buyers get a decent amount of standard features even with the entry-level S grade. The list includes an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth, Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, and Siri Eyes Free voice recognition.

Also standard on all grades are safety and convenience features such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and Rear Door Alert.

The 2019 Altima is the brand’s second model, following the 2019 Rogue, to offer the optional Nissan Safety Shield 360 bundle of safety assist features (standard on SV and SL). The pack includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

The advanced ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous technology is also available as an option.
