We’ve officially arrived at a point where car-related technology has surpassed some people’s expectations. Pretty soon, we’re going to get pulled over for driving without having our hands on the steering wheel, as not all people are familiar with the semi-autonomous capabilities of modern cars.
Oh well, at least this particular exchange between a police officer and the driver of a Tesla Model 3 was pleasant and overall very polite, unlike others we’ve seen.
The officer pulled the Tesla over thinking that the driver had actually fitted a computer next to his steering wheel. We suppose it’s understandable, especially if you’re not familiar with the Model 3’s dashboard design. Still, it definitely made for one or two awkward pauses in the conversation as the officer realized that his initial assumption was wrong.
He then went on to apologize to the driver, a man named Jon Hall, for pulling him over, while also reiterating the fact that visually, it was an honest mistake. In turn, Mr Hall proved to be very understanding about the whole thing.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s actually a good thing to keep an eye out for people who might be engaged in doing other things behind the wheel, instead of keeping their eyes on the road. Distracted driving is more of a problem now than ever before.
