There’s Nothing Entry-Level About The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 4-Door

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door couldn’t look unassuming even if its life depended on it. It’s easily one of the most striking 4-door cars currently on the market, and it’s surprisingly quick, too.

Responsible for that is its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder producing 367 PS (362 HP) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. With the help of an AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic, the AMG GT 43 4-door will rocket to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds.

It also comes with an EQ Boost starter-alternator electric motor, feeding the 48-volt electrical system. In short bursts, it can also aid the internal combustion engine with a further 22 PS and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.

This car’s presence at the 2018 Paris Motor Show comes as no surprise, since the GT 43 four-door is the most affordable GT 4-door in the Old Continent, where prices start at €95,259 ($110,940) in Germany.

Posing for the cameras is a Jupiter Red example, with black multi-spoke wheels, tinted windows and a driver-focused interior with carbon fiber inserts, sports seats and loads of contrast stitching. It actually looks like the exact same spec we saw in the model’s official press release, apart from the wheels.

Unfortunately, it appears that neither the U.S. nor Canada will be getting the entry-level four-door AMG GT, having to “settle” for the more powerful, but also more expensive, too, GT 53, GT 63 and GT 63 S instead.
