The latest M5 puts out no less than 600 PS (591 HP), according to BMW, while its more track-focused version, the M5 Competition, has 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) available on tap.
Now, the following video doesn’t show the M5 Competition on the dyno, but rather demonstrates its monstrous performance in the real world. So, with very little montage and no CGIs whatsoever, the powerful executive saloon goes all the way up to 307 km/h (190 mph), in a continuous acceleration.

The car in question is equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package, which BMW says lifts the top speed up to 305 km/h (190 mph). Buyers opting for the stock model will have their rides’ v-max limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Other numbers that should interest those in search of a super sedan are the 3.3 seconds required for the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration, and the 10.8 seconds needed for 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) spint.
Compared to the ‘regular’ M5, the Competition has a few other changes than the extra muscle squeezed from the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. These are the high-gloss black accents on the outside, Competition badging, specific exhaust system and exclusive 20-inch wheels, joined by the re-worked instrument cluster, different seatbelts and floor mats inside.
