Occasionally, our spy photographers stumble upon a prototype test vehicle that neither they nor we can identify. This happened today when one of our scoopsters sent us these shots of a mysterious small model with a coupe-like shape.

For what its worth, the prototype model was snagged testing in the northern parts of Europe.

The only piece of information we have on the black test car comes from the bright yellow decals on the sides and the rear hatch that reads “Elektrofahrzeug” (try saying that fast), which is German from “Electric Vehicle“.

Looking at the prototype from the rear, you could say it might be a real life version of one of Pixar’s Cars but the even goofier front end puts an end to that theory.

The possibility of Chris Bangle coming out of retirement did cross our minds, but the lack of a “bustle-back” – otherwise known as the “Bangle-butt”, brings us back to square one.

Batman also came to mind, but somehow we don’t think the “Dark Knight” would downgrade from the Tumbler.

If you have any thoughts on what it could be, feel free to amuse us in the comments section below.
