We wouldn’t blame you if you have lost count of all the special edition versions of the MX-5 that Mazda has launched…this year alone. And there’s another coming, this time for the UK market, though despite its Venture Edition moniker, it’s the same model as the Spring Edition Mazda announced for the Geneva Salon.
The MX-5 Venture Edition is available as a 126ps 1.8 MZR Soft-top (SE) with a five-speed manual gearbox or as a 2.0 MZR Roadster Coupe (Sport Tech) with a six-speed manual, with on-the-road prices set at £18,995 and £22,285 respectively.
The Japanese automaker said that only 250 examples of the Venture Edition Soft-top and 550 of the Venture Edition Roadster Coupe will be available in Britain.
Buyers can choose from three different exterior shades including Metropolitan Grey Mica and two exclusive colours to this MX-5 special edition, the Radiant Ebony Mica and Crystal White Pearlescent, all of which are free of charge.
On the outside, the Venture Edition gets light gun metal 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, a chrome front grille, piano black bars and special badging sporting its name.
The interior comes equipped with Havana Brown heated leather seats, leather steering wheel and hand brake with contrasting grey stitching, matching door trim, climate control air-conditioning, piano black dashboard accents, alloy pedals, cruise control and, for the very first time on an MX-5, a satellite navigation system.
The latter is supplied by Sanyo TomTom and sports a fully integrated 5.8-inch touch screen monitor, 4GB SD card based map for 45 countries, live services, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity and complete multi-media functionality.
