Picture this: You’re waiting at a stop light, minding your own business, when the car in front starts burning rubber, sending all that tire smoke, not to mention the smell, towards you.
Then, the driver responsible for what just happened takes off aggressively, putting himself and others in danger as he speeds away from the intersection.
This particular incident took place at the end of last month in Brisbane, Australia, where it was captured on dashcam. For some reason, the driver of the Ford Falcon pulled off this stunt.
Once the light turned green, he took off “excessively down the road,” as stated in the video’s description, which can be dangerous since the driver can easily lose control and hit something or someone.
So while burnouts can be beneficial before official drag races, for example (the idea is to get some heat into the tires, while also removing any type of small debris from them), there is absolutely no point in doing one while you’re in traffic.
Unfortunately, some people will always behave irresponsibly on public roads, increasing the chances of something bad happening. Safety should be everyone’s first concern – and if one likes to engage in burn outs, drifting or any other antiques, they better take to a track, where everything’s much safer for everyone involved.
