If you want to buy a brand new BMW M5, know that you are by no means limited to just one version as the automaker offers two versions, the “normal” M5 and the new M5 Competition.
Of course, you can also go to an established after market specialist, such as AC Schnitzer, if you so desire – and as is the case here.
According to BMW Abu Dhabi, this is the world’s first M5 Competition with an AC Schnitzer body kit, which means that it’s equipped with custom carbon front spoiler elements, a front splitter, rear diffuser, custom paddle shifters, new exhaust and spring kit, side skirts, rear roof spoiler and a carbon fiber ‘Racing’ rear wing. As for other styling changes, there are high-gloss black accents on the grille, rear bumper and mirror caps, plus ‘Competition’ badging.
The tuner can also bump output from the M5 Competition’s 625 PS (617 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque to 700 PS (690 HP) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft), although it’s unclear whether this particular car features any power mods or not.
In a straight line, BMW says the M5 Competition will do 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds and hit 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.8 seconds. We father that with 73 HP and 100 Nm more, the AC Scnhitzer-tuned example will be a bit faster than that.
