The Chevrolet Camaro has come a long way in recent years, so much so that it’s frequently compared to more expensive cars.
Take this review we’ve come across recently in which the 2018 Camaro 1SS 1LE takes on two of Germany’s best compact performance cars: the BMW M2 Competition and the Audi RS3 Sedan.
You may say that the Camaro is in the wrong company here as it’s not only much cheaper than the German cars but also less sophisticated. Well, the guys from Canada’s Throttle House seem to believe that statement is only partially true.
While the Camaro runs an old-school (comparatively, at least) 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that makes 455 hp and 455 lb-ft (616 Nm), the Audi and the BMW get almost the same amount of power from much smaller, albeit turbocharged engines.

The RS3 features a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder unit rated at 400 hp and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm). The M2 Competition has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six engine that makes 405 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm).
As far as transmissions go, the Camaro and the M2 feature six-speed manuals that drive the rear wheels. However, the RS3 Sedan stands out not only because it has more doors that the other cars. It also has a different configuration with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive.
As you can see, this is quite an eclectic mix so the comparison review is open to any verdict. Which car is the most fun to drive? And which is the best to live with? Sure, the video will give you the reviewers’ answers. However, yours might differ so it’s best to drive any of these cars before deciding to buy one.
