America has a new supercar coming, and it’s going to be built in Connecticut.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus unveiled the final design for the forthcoming SCG 004S (in the first video below) last week. And now it’s revealed plans for where it’ll build the thing, at a new two-story facility at the Danbury Municipal Airport near the New York State line.

The SCG 004S is planned as a supercar with a central driving position in a three-seat cabin – just like the legendary McLaren F1 and the new Speedtail just revealed. It’s slated to cost about $400,000 and (contrary to earlier reports) pack a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 – GM’s LT4, just as you’d find in the Corvette Z06, Camaro ZL1, and Cadillac CTS-V. The engine kicks out 650 horsepower (485 kW) and (in the Chevys) an equal 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, and will come mated to either an old-school manual transmission or a paddle-shifted automatic.

According to Motor1, an even more potent version will boast the more powerful LT5 from the Corvette ZR1, upgraded to a nice round 800 horsepower (596 kW), and there’ll be a 004C GT3 racing version as well.

SCG is the pet project of filmmaker, investor, and noted car collector James Glickenhaus. Jim first caught our attention over a decade ago when he commissioned Pininfarina to build him the Ferrari P4/5 based on the Enzo and styled like the Ferrari racing prototypes he collected. He later fathered the P4/5 Competizione (based on the 430 Scuderia), which lead to the formation of the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and the creation of the SCG 003. It’s also planning a retro-styled 006 roadster, the 007 Le Mans prototype, and the all-terrain Baja Boot.

The new 004 will be built in greater numbers than any project the Scuderia has undertaken to date, but still promises to be a rather rare bird indeed. Production is slated to kick off late next year.
