Second-Gen BMW X4 Gets Significant Power Boost From Dahler

Swiss tuner Dahler Competition is offering a couple of mechanical upgrades for the latest BMW X4.

The first one involves the M40i version of the crossover, whose 3.0-liter six-banger has been tuned to deliver 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. That’s 60 PS (59 hp / 44 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque more than the stock model. As for the BMW X4 M40d range-topping diesel, it gets 326 PS (322 hp / 240 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque in factory form.

However, with the tuner’s upgrades, the output rises to 380 PS (375 hp / 280 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. The Swiss company didn’t say how quick the two tuned crossovers are now in a straight line.

A tuned sport suspension kit is also part of the offering, with Dahler stating that it not only lowers the ride height of the vehicle, but also improves handling, reduces sensitivity to crosswind and contributes to the X4’s special stance. Completing the suspension system are the modified shock absorbers, described as being “sporty but never hard”.

The dynamic appearance of the new BMW X4 is being further complemented by the stainless steel exhaust system. Developed in-house by Dahler, it comes with 4 tailpipes and creates a deeper soundtrack.

On a final note, the tuner sees the crossover as looking better with larger rims, which is why it can be fitted with either of the following two sets: 9×21-inch and 10.5×21-inch front and rear or 9.5×22-inch and 10.5×22-inch front and rear.
