The Isle of Man is famous for its no speed limit zones, combined with lots of curves and a spectacular scenery.

This makes it one of the world’s greatest driving roads, and was recently included in Ford’s series of films that’s looking to bring forward some of the hidden gems for both drivers and travelers.

The weapon of choice of the Blue Oval for their latest adventure was the Mustang Bullitt. The muscle car thus follows in the footsteps of other spectacular rides from Ford, featured in the other films, from the GT, which ran across the Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway, to the Fiesta ST that was taken to Via Campocatino in Italy.

Responsible for putting the Mustang Bullitt through its paces on the Isle of Man was journalist Steve Sutcliffe.

“Imagine German autobahns, then add hills and twists, and shrink it to a single carriageway with incredible views, and what you have are these utterly fantastic and dramatic roads”, he said. “The Mountain Road feels, and is, an utterly dramatic place to drive. It’s epic, and quite unlike anywhere else.”

Unveiled at the beginning of the year in Detroit, the Mustang Bullitt is a special edition that pays tribute to the legendary pony car driven by Steve McQueen in the movie ‘Bullit’ 50 years ago.

It features special exterior and interior upgrades and is powered by an enhanced version of the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 that’s mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The total output in the Euro-spec version is 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 529 Nm (390 lb-ft) of torque.

Nothing to write home about, yet still more than enough to have a really good time in such an environment when poise, adjustability and fun are what matters most.
