Cadillac has finally launched the XT4 in the market, entering a rather crowded segment brimmed with premium small SUVs that includes strong rivals like the BMW X1, the Audi Q3, the Volvo XC40 and the list goes on.
The new Cadillac XT4’s design strikes a nice balance, as it manages to look more interesting that the company’s bigger and more conservative SUVs but still being identified as a member of the Cadillac family.
The drooping LED headlights might not suit everyone’s tastes but the rest of the body looks fresh and premium enough for the segment it competes in.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 237 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque and is connected to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. Cadillac offers an all-wheel drive option in addition to the standard front-wheel drive model.
The cabin looks like a modern and expensive place to sit in, featuring good-quality materials and a wide range of trim options. The new infotainment system comes with an eight-inch touchscreen display, an improved voice recognition system and NFC connectivity. Super Cruise is also on its way.
On paper, the new Cadillac XT4 has everything it needs to rival the best in the class but does it? Let’s find out what Kelley Blue Book has to say in the video linked below.
