Tesla simplified the Model 3 back in September and now the company is making similar changes to the Model S and Model X.

According to Electrek, the Model S 75D and Model X 75D now cost an additional $1,000 as their base prices have climbed to $78,000 and $84,000. While prices on those models have risen, the cost for the 100D variants has dropped by $500 to $96,000 for the Model S 100D and $99,000 for the Model X 100D.

Besides the price changes, the number of options has been reduced. The publication says the Model S is no longer available in a seven-seat configuration and customers can no longer opt for a panoramic sunroof.

The changes to the Model X are less drastic, but the six-seat variant with a second row center console is no longer available.

Besides the model specific changes, it appears interior trim choices have been slashed. As the publication noted, there are now three primary choices including a black interior with figured ash wood trim, a cream and black interior with oak trim and a white and black interior with dark ash trim. The latter two interiors are options, but they now cost $1,500 instead of $3,300.

Buyers looking at P100D variants have even less choices as they can only order a black or black and white interior. Regardless of which one is selected, both come with carbon fiber trim.

The changes seem to be relatively minor, but they promise to help reduce costs and streamline production. That being said, it’s sad to see several of the previous options going away.
