When it goes on sale early next year, the 2019 Ford Ranger will be available with a host of Yakima accessories.
The offering includes tents, bike racks and kayak racks, among others, which will “better meet the needs of adventure-seeking Ford Customers”, according to the car firm. Among the accessories that will be offered as optional extras at Ford dealerships is the BedRock Heavy Duty truck bed rack.
This elevates the bed capacity with a rack system that can carry boats, skis, bikes or even boxes above the bed, thus preserving the storage capacity underneath. Compatible with this feature is the medium rooftop tent.
Another accessory is the LongArm bed extender, which extends the length of the bed by up to 4 feet (1.22 meters). Adjustable to three positions, the hitch-mounted rack allows users to haul boards, kayaks, ladders and lumber, and has a 300 lbs (136 kg) capacity in lower positions.

With the GateKeeper tailgate pad, the 2019 Ford Ranger can carry up to six bikes. A variety of kayak, paddleboard, canoe and snowsport carriers are also available, in addition to tool holders, tonneau covers, bed mats, splash guards, step bars, tow hooks and others. There’s an air snorkel on the options list too, for when things get wet, as well as a Borla performance exhaust system.
All available Yakima accessories come with a 3-year or 36,000-mile (57,936 km) extendable Ford warranty, and customers can choose to add the cost to their vehicle financing.
Further down the road, the Yakima accessories will be extended to the F-150 and Explorer.
The 2019 Ford Ranger has an MSRP of $24,300 in base form, whereas the top-of-the-line Lariat can be had from $32,210. All versions are powered by the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, rated at 270 hp (273 PS / 201 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque.
