We’re not sure why that happened, but the driver of that semi should have pulled over to the side of the road right after colliding with the first overpass. The fact that a second incident ensued defies common sense.

It goes without saying that semi drivers that haul large loads such as shipping containers should be aware of all possible routes once they get out on the road and pay attention to warning signs. Not being able to fit underneath an overpass is a pretty major concern, as it can also put other drivers at risk.

The video, uploaded to Reddit by Camredd (who specified that he’s not the cammer) doesn’t provide us with a location as to where exactly this took place. All we know is that it may have occurred last week, although that 2 PM timestamp is clearly off.

So what happened? Well, in the span of one minute, the semi hit not just one, but two overpasses. The first time around, the hit could have inadvertently damaged the cammer and any other trailing vehicles as debris fell from above. When the second hit occurred, the container was spun directly on the rig before dropping. We don’t even want to think what might have happened if the semi was being overtaken by another vehicle right at that time.

As the container kept spinning on the wet asphalt, the semi driver can be seen pulling over to the side of the road – which is what they should have done prior to the first impact.
