2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition Going Up For Auction With A Gulf Livery

Getting your hands on the Ford GT is incredibly difficult as there’s high demand, a lengthy application process and good chance of rejection.

Even purchasing one second-hand is a challenge as Ford famously sued John Cena after he flipped is car.  Ford has even gone after auction houses selling GTs as Mecum Auctions has stated there was legal drama sounding a previous car, but “a judge did rule in Mecum’s favor.”

That brings us to today’s news that Ford is auctioning off a 2019 GT Heritage Edition at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 19^th.  Dressed in a stylish Gulf Oil livery, the car is the first of the 2019 Heritage Editions and it pays tribute to the GT40s which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1968 and 1969.

Besides the Gulf livery, the car has exposed carbon fiber A-pillars and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with a high-gloss dark stainless finish.  The Heritage Edition also comes with a black Alcantara interior featuring contrasting blue and orange stitching on the seats and steering wheel.  Rounding out the highlights are anodized paddle shifters, dark stainless accents and exposed matte carbon fiber.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan and Ford expects the car to sell for a “sizable sum.”
