You can make a case for the Range Rover Velar being the world’s most stylish SUV, and given that it has plenty of luxury rivals, this is a testament to how good-looking it really is.

Compared to its brand siblings, the Velar has much softer lines and a more rakish roof. In a way, it’s what you get when you combine the Evoque and the Sport into one car, although the Velar has a slightly less angled shoulder line.

Now, since the general consensus is that this is one seriously gorgeous crossover, tuners have to ask themselves just how far they’re willing to go in order to make it look more aggressive and perhaps a little more exclusive.

What we have here are two different takes on the Velar, courtesy of Startech and Overfinch – the former being German, the latter British.

Overfinch has been customizing Land Rovers for decades now, winning multiple awards for their ingenuity. Their products tend to be not very outlandish, even though they are generally seen as sportier than factory-standard models.

Their take on the Velar is no different. Aside from the tweaked bumpers, custom lettering, carbon fiber accents, exhaust tips, 22-inch wheels and a rear spoiler, there isn’t much else worth mentioning. This is of course by design, as the tuner’s goal was to simply “accentuate the clean lines” of the Velar, while retaining the “elegance and sophistication of the base vehicle”.

Customers can also choose between a range of unique colors, personalized upholstery and so on. It’s pretty much as sporty as you can get it to look without compromising its original on-road presence.

Of course, if all of that seems a little too tame, then feel free to call up Startech and have their body kit fitted to your sleek British SUV, turning it into something a lot more aggressive.

While the German tuner will let you install their new bumper with an integrated spoiler and larger intakes without also getting the 16-piece wide-body kit that adds 60 mm (2.36 in) in overall width, odds are you’re going to want the latter if your goal is to have the Velar look like it’s flexing its muscles.

Other mods include the custom panel for the tailgate, custom diffuser with integrated exhaust tips, plus the 22-inch Monostar M wheels. You can also get the tuner’s Sound XTRA module, which will work with both diesel and gasoline versions of the Velar, which according to Startech orchestrates a virtual gasoline V8 sound without being annoyingly loud.

As for the interior, like with the Overfinch-tuned SUV, this one also is available with custom upholstery (fine leather and Alcantara), as well as matching wood and carbon fiber trim.

Time to let us know which of these two body kits you think works best with the Range Rover Velar.
