The 2019 Audi A1 is currently available with a single engine, in 30 TFSI form. This is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit, rated at 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque, which allows the car to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.4 seconds with the 7-speed auto, or 9.5 seconds with the six-speed manual gearbox. Top speed is 203 km/h (126 mph) in both versions.

The engine lineup will be extended early next year to include the 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) 25 TFSI, 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) 1.5-liter 35 TFSI and 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) 2.0-liter TFSI. All mills are turbocharged, direct-injected and feature a particulate filter, and can be paired to a manual or a 7-speed automatic DCT, except for the 200 PS version, which is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission solely.

Audi will further expand the range in the UK with the introduction of two special editions, called the A1 S Line Contrast Edition and S Line Style Edition. Both of them are said to be launched with a choice of vivid colors, darkened LED taillights, black coloring for the grille and tailgate logos, 18-inch alloy wheels in bronze or black, and different exterior and interior packages.
