An incident took place recently in Vladimir, Russia, just east of Moscow, where a man managed to escape a burning car after having been asleep in it while the vehicle erupted in flames.

According to the video’s description, people tried to wake the man up and get him out, but were unsuccessful in doing so. Thankfully, he managed to escape before it was too late – not that it didn’t already look as though it was.

“I saw smoke coming out of a car, and a man was sitting in it. People were knocking on the glass and trying to open the door but he was asleep and his car was locked. When the car caught fire, he continued to sleep, and people fled from the fire. He later woke up and ran out of the burning car,” said a witness.

This quote tells us that the man must have been inside the car for a pretty long period of time, which is bad, especially when dealing with smoke inhalation. Now, to be perfectly honest, we still don’t understand why somebody didn’t try to break a window before the smoke turned into a blaze; probably no one thought of it.

As for how that BMW caught on fire and why nobody was unable to wake the guy up, it’s anyone’s guess; all that matters is that the man eventually got away.
