This year’s Los Angeles Auto Show will host one of Audi’s most anticipated concepts of the year, the E-Tron GT. The official unveiling has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, at 1:05 PM PST (10 AM EST).
The E-Tron GT follows September’s E-Tron crossover unveiling, the latter being Audi’s first-ever all-electric SUV. While the German automaker calls the E-Tron GT a sports car, the concept has previously been characterized as a “highly dynamic four door coupe.”
The unveiling will be broadcast live across Audi’s social media platforms, as the world awaits to see what Ingolstadt’s answer to the likes of the Tesla Model S looks like.
What should we expect?
For starters, a very aggressive-looking and truly dynamic saloon. According to Bild, the E-Tron GT sedan will be built on the same platform as the Porsche Taycan. Those same sources claim that the Audi will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than four seconds and travel more than 400 km (248 miles) on a single charge.
Perhaps the most enticing piece of speculative information is that while the E-Tron GT Concept will arrive in Los Angeles as a design study, the production car will enter markets in 2020 almost unchanged. Whether that’s true or not, remains to be seen.
We should also hold out on calling this a slightly-redesigned A7, even though that could very well be the case.
