The upcoming Pininfarina PF0 hypercar won’t just look good, as recent teasers suggest, but it could also be the world’s most powerful production car.

As we’ve known for quite some time, the PF0 will use an electric powertrain sourced from Croatian company Rimac. Automobili Pininfarina has previously confirmed that the car will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than two seconds and breeze past 186 mph (300 km/h) in under 12 seconds. Now we know why the PF0 will be so fast.

According to Auto Express, the PF0 will use an electric motor for each wheel and pump out a combined 1900 hp (1927 PS) and 1696 lb-ft (2300 Nm) of torque, not only making it comfortably more powerful than not just the Bugatti Chiron, but every other production car currently on sale. Piston Heads, on the other hand, claims that the final power figure will sit at 1925 hp. If true, that would give the PF0 a small advantage over Rimac’s own C_Two hypercar with its 1888 hp.

It’s pretty obvious that Automobili Pininfarina is taking its mission to produce a world-beating hypercar very seriously.

As the company recently confirmed, the vehicle’s design will be handled by Italian design house Pininfarina (a separate company to Automobili Pininfarina). The car will feature the newly-established ‘Pura’ design philosophy and feature as few intakes and vents as possible to create sleek bodywork that improves the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

Only 150 examples of the PF0 hypercar will be produced and each will be priced at around £1.5 million ($1.93 million) before options.
