PSA’s Free2Move Ride-Sharing Service Launches In Paris

Commuters across the bustling city of Paris will soon have access to a fleet of 550 electric vehicles thanks to PSA Group’s Free2Move ride-sharing.

Set to launch on December 3, the ride-sharing service will offer users a plethora of Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero models to drive. The two cars may be small but they will be perfectly sized for the streets of Paris which are frequently overloaded with other vehicles.

To use the service, locals can opt between paying a monthly subscription of €9.90 ($11.27) plus a fee of €0.32 (36 cents) per minute. Alternatively, users can decide against using a subscription and instead pay €0.39 (44 cents) per minute.

Not only will users not have to pay for fuel as the iOn and C-Zero are all-electric but they are also offered free parking in authorized public places across the city. Insurance is also included in the fee and there will be dedicated teams of Free2Move staff that ensure the cars remain topped up with electricity.

Since being launched as a single brand consolidating all of the PSA Group’s mobility services, Free2Move has expanded to 12 countries and serves in excess of 1.5 million users with a fleet of 65,000 vehicles.

PSA Group actually made its return to the U.S. market in 2017 with the local launch of Free2Move. The ride-sharing service is currently available in 33 cities across the country.

“Within just two years of its launch, Free2Move already has more than 1.5 million users in 12 countries and a fleet of 65,000 vehicles. We are delighted to launch our car sharing service in Paris and we are also planning to expand our offering to the surrounding metropolitan area very soon,” Free2Move chief executive Brigitte Courtehoux said of the Paris expansion.
