Ford Only Has About 12,000 Focus Sedans Left In Its U.S. Inventory

We’re getting closer with each day to the moment Ford won’t have any sedans left for sale in the United States.

Ford’s shocking announcement made in April this year said that models such as the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and Taurus would be phased out over the next few years. As it turns out, the end might be very near for some of these models. Take the Focus Sedan, for example. According to Marc LaNeve, Ford Vice President for U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service, there are only about 12,000 Focus sedans left in inventory.

Picked up by Automotive News reporter Michael Martinez and then by Jalopnik, the executive’s remarks prove that time is running out for customers who want to grab one of the last remaining Focus sedans in the United States.

12,000 units is a very small quantity given that Honda alone sold 377,286 Civic sedans, coupes, and hatchbacks in the U.S. in 2017. Basically, it’s slightly more than a month’s inventory given that Ford sold 158,385 Focus models last year (hatchbacks and sedans combined).

On Ford’s U.S. consumer website, the entry-level 2018 Focus Sedan S is listed with a starting price of $17,950 plus the $875 destination charge. However, Ford is handing out incentives of $3,250 for each car, dropping the estimated net price to $15,575.

That’s a pretty good deal for a compact sedan that features a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine, making 160 hp and 146 lb-ft (198 Nm) of torque.

Standard features include a five-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, Torque Vectoring Control, Hill Start Assist, rearview camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Remote Keyless Entry, and more.
