We totally undestand wanting to go out and celebrate your team winning a big game, but things can go wrong when you show off, something that rings particularly true when it comes to cars.
According to the description of the video, this incident took place this past weekend in Da Nang, Vietnam, where people were celebrating their national soccer team’s 2-1 victory over the Philippines for the first leg of the 2018 AFF Cup.
In a nutshell, this is what went down according to a witness:
“The owner of this supercar drove this car on the street in order to celebrate the win with other fans. This is what happened when he was trying to show off his car. Luckily, other people helped him extinguish the flames.”
It’s a good thing others came to the rescue, because the driver’s solution initially was to.. .kick the flames into submission, as if it would have been as easy as stepping on a really small campfire. Still, had no one been around to help, this Italian exotic may have burned down to a crisp – assuming the driver wouldn’t have thought of a way to put the fire out himself like, say, using a fire extinguisher
Back in 2015, this yellow Aventador Roadster caught fire in exactly the same way, after its driver revved the engine excessively on the streets of Dubai.
Here’s the moral of the story: if you own a supercar, don’t rev the hell out of it when it’s stationary and everything’s quite hot, or you risk melting some plastics – in the best case scenario. The worst, we don’t even want to mention…
