A Jaguar I-PACE was found burning in the Netherlands. By the time fire services could come to its rescue, its front end had already been destroyed.

According to Autobahn, the cause of the fire remains unknown, which means this could have just as easily been either an electrical issue, or perhaps a simple case of arson courtesy of a pyromaniac. Hopefully authorities will get to the bottom of things as they investigate.

Regardless of the cause, this might very well be the first ever documented Jaguar I-PACE fire, which means that the British automaker will also be extremely interested in finding out exactly what went wrong.

As for the damage, there is definitely no fixing this crossover. While small fires that are extinguished in time can have little to no effect on the well-being of a vehicle, one of this magnitude will pretty much reduce whatever car you own to a pile of scrap, even in circumstances where the entire length of the vehicle may not have been engulfed in flames.

To us, it looks as though the front axle Synchronous Permanent Magnet motor is done for, and probably so is the electrical system, although if the battery can be salvaged, you could consider that a win of sorts.

The best part is that nobody was reportedly harmed by the flames.
