Porsche 718 Cayman T Spied, Do You Hear A Turbo Flat-Four Or A NA Flat-Six?

The Cayman family will soon be extended by the new, track focused 718 Cayman T, which should arrive next year.

It won’t be as harcore as the upcoming 718 Cayman GT4, but it will still offer a sportier driving experience compared to the regular versions. Additionally, unlike the range-topping GT4, which will likely get the 4.0-liter flat-six of the 911 GT3, the T will probably use a smaller, turbocharged unit.

Earlier sources talked about a possible 2.5-liter four-cylinder, making about 365 PS (360 hp / 269 kW). However, the example spied testing at the track not long ago does sound like it has a bigger mill at its disposal.

Nevertheless, aficionados will probably have to wait a few months to find out all the juicy details about the car, including whether a stick shift will be part of the offering or it will be PDK-only.

In the meantime, though, let’s see that prototype doing what it does best in the hands of a skilled factory driver, who did seem to enjoy the time spent at the Nurburgring.
