On display alongside hundreds of classic vehicles to be auctioned off at the 41st annual Barrett-Jackson event in Scottsdale, Arizona, in January, will be a 1954 DeSoto Adventurer II Coupe Concept.

The one-off study, which is generally touted as one of the greatest concept cars ever made, was designed by Ghia’s Luigi Segre and Giovanni Savonuzzi with the Chrysler Group’s head designer at the time, Virgil Exner, believed to have contributed to some extent.

The two-seater model was built by Italy’s Ghia on a Chrysler Imperial chassis with power coming from a Chrysler V8 HEMI engine.

After its motorshow tour ended in 1955, the DeSoto Adventurer II was bought by King Mohammed V of Morocco who kept it until 1985 when he sold it to an American Diplomat named Armand Archer.

The car has since been fully restored. You can check it out in the photos below.
