A highly modified 1930 Ford Model A owned by Seether’s Dale Stewart will be up for grabs at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona next month.

While it might not attract as much attention as the first 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 or all-new Toyota Supra, the custom hot rod is nonetheless interesting as it was custom-built for the bassist by Classic Car Studio.

The model started out as a 1930 Model A, but it has been chopped and channeled and rides on a custom-built chassis. The model is made almost entirely out of steel and Barrett-Jackson says every interior panel, including the dash and the seats, were hand formed.

Speaking of the interior, it’s highly distinctive as it features exposed metal and contrasting gold rivets. Drivers will also find minimalist gauges, a unique steering wheel and some rather uncomfortable-looking seats.

The unique styling continues on the outside, as the hot rod has an open roof with wood cross beams. Of course, one of the most noticeable features is the supercharged 5.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that is fully exposed. It is connected to an automatic transmission that sends power to a 9-inch rear end with 4.10 gearing.

There’s no word on how much power the engine produces, but the hot rod also has a 5-inch I-beam drop front axle with split wishbones and Lincoln brakes.  Out back, there’s a 4-link rear suspension with adjustable coilovers. Other highlights include 18- and 20-inch custom wheels wrapped in Firestone Deluxe Champion tires.

The one-off Model A was featured on Velocity’s Speed is the New Black and it will be auctioned off on January 18th. Besides the car, the winning bidder will receive a signed bass that Stewart used to perform during concerts around the world.
