While debate still rages around the looks of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door, one thing that cannot be argued is the sedan’s performance.
In range-topping GT 63 S guise, Mercedes-AMG’s rival to the Porsche Panamera features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that pumps out 630 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain allows the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 3.1 seconds before storming towards the 200 mph (320 km/h) mark.
Of course, not all GT 4-Door buyers can afford the GT 63 S, and have to make do with a less powerful and less aggressive-looking variant. The following aerodynamics pack offered by Mercedes-AMG aims to solve the latter problem.
Offered on all GT 4-Door models, including the baby GT 43, mid-range GT 53, and the GT 63, the package was first previewed by the expensive Edition 1 model. At the front, the kit includes a bespoke splitter as well as distinctive air deflectors on the sides of the bumper and in the gaping-wide air intakes.
Spin around to the rear and you’ll find a large fixed wing with a high-gloss finish. Mercedes-AMG has also designed a new diffuser and fitted a different bumper.
Customers in Germany can option the aero pack for 3,391 euros ($3,860). The automaker has yet to announce pricing for the kit in the United States, although it will eventually become available there too, Mercedes-Benz Passion reports.
