Audi has opened the order books for the updated 2019 TTS, which also includes the new special Competition model.
The latter is the second special TT edition we get, after the limited ‘20 Years’ model that debuted with the regular series model. Despite having the name ‘Competition’, this version of the TTS is limited to mostly styling changes rather than an actual performance upgrade.
With that said, anyone who has driven an Audi TTS can sure tell that the performance on-tap is more than enough to keep the driver smiling.
The 2019 Audi TTS Competition features a fixed rear wing, red brake calipers, laminated Audi rings on the side sills, 20-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels and other exterior details finished in gloss black.
Customers will get to choose between two options for their interior: Express red leather with contrast stitching in gray or ebony leather with contrast stitching in express red. The Coupe version of the TTS Competition also gets privacy glass and the elements of the seat trims and center console finished in either slate gray chrome or tango red. The air vent rings are also finished in red while the steering wheel and gear lever are dressed in alcantara.
For the 2019 model year, the Audi TTS continues using the turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI, which now features a particulate filter. It produces 302hp (306PS) and 295lb-ft (400Nm) of peak torque, 15lb-ft more than before, from just 2,000rpm. The only transmission choice is a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Audi claims that the new TTS Coupe is capable of a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 4.5 seconds (Roadster: 4.8 seconds), while top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h).
