Slated to make its world premiere alongside a rich display of futuristic concept models of all sorts and sizes at the upcoming 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011, is the new Honda AC-X hybrid study.
Unlike Honda’s Small EV Sports Car, which we only get to see through a handful of sketches for the time being, the Japanese automaker released plenty of real-life photos of the AC-X.
But once again, Honda has released very few details about the concept. Here’s what the press blurb says: “A next generation plug-in hybrid vehicle offering a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience in urban and long-distance motoring. With the choices of an “engine drive mode” for more spirited driving or an “automatic drive mode” for more relaxed driving.”
So all we get from Honda is that the AC-X is a family-size fastback model, obviously larger than the Inspire and which is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
From the pictures, we see The AC-X Concept’s shape draws heavily on Honda’s FCX Clarity fuel-cell model for inspiration, though the styling details are more aggressive and in line with the Japanese firm’s Small EV Sports Car study.
We’ll bring you more once the hybrid concept is fully revealed in Tokyo on November 30.
