Lincoln has managed to sell all 80 examples of the Continental Coach Door Edition that it planned to produce this year, only a month after announcing and releasing pictures of the car online.
The news was confirmed by Lincoln Global Communications Manager, Angie Kozleski, who told Carscoops that demand actually exceeded expectations for the brand’s most expensive vehicle, which cost a little over $110,000, more than double the price of a base 2019 Continental.
There was no special process to get the car, with all examples of the suicide door Continental sold through the Black Label dealers. As for the actual deliveries, clients will have to wait at least until this summer, for first cars to be shipped.

Compared to the regular Continental, the Coach Door Edition has a 6 inches (15.24 cm) longer wheelbase. This not only frees up a lot of extra space at the back, but was apparently mandatory for fitting the rear suicide-opening doors, its distinctive feature. Active Noise Control, premium sound system, head-up display and other special amenities set it apart furthermore.
The Continental Coach Door Edition uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, rated at 400 hp (406 PS / 298 kW) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. Each car has three driving modes called Normal, Sport and Comfort.
If you missed your chance to purchase the special edition, don’t worry, because the company will bring it back.
“Looking ahead, we have confirmed a second-year run for the Continental Coach Door Edition, and will have more to share very soon”, Angie Kozleski told Carscoops.
Details about that lot are basically nonexistent, but clients should expect the same rear suicide doors and a lot of luxury features, for roughly the same starting price.
