A series of updates to the ‘Mercedes me’ online portal have been added and owners will now have the chance to order select optional equipment even after their vehicles have been delivered. ‘Mercedes me’ is now also available in Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand.
Mercedes-Benz owners across Europe with the new MBUX infotainment system will be provided with a free 12-month subscription to Jay Z’s Tidal music streaming service. Buyers of non-MBUX Mercedes models can also enjoy Tidal for 12 months by connecting their smartphone to their Mercedes me account and using the streaming service at home.
An on-demand feature has also been added to new Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, and GLE models outfitted with MBUX. Through this feature, owners can access an online store and purchase things such as Digital Radio, Smartphone Integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), and Navigation. The new features are downloaded and added if the owner has a working data connection.
Not only does the ability to add these new features help owners who may have forgotten to order them from the factory but they also allow future owners to customize the technology features they may or may not want.
From 2020, all new passenger cars sold in the European Union will need to have digital radio capability. With the option to easily download and add digital radio, owners of 2019 models will be will be able to equip their vehicles with this option, helping them keep the vehicles up-to-date and likely improving resale values.
