Crossover and SUV buyers looking for something that’s a lot more fun to drive than your average 7-seat people hauler, can look at the likes of the BMW X6, Mercedes GLE Coupe and now, the Audi Q8.

Ingolstadt’s new luxury crossover proved itself to be extremely agile during KM77’s stability tests, with the Spanish outlet claiming that its performance on the test course was “exemplary”, especially when you take into account what type of car this is.

In fact, the Q8 was so quick to turn in, the driver figured it was why he clipped multiple cones on the first run at 77 km/h (47.8 mph) – as he wasn’t expecting that type of a response. Next up came the 79 km/h (49.0 mph) run, which is considered a very high speed for an SUV when it comes to a moose test. The Q8 had no issues there either, aside from mild understeering, which was kept in check by the electronic aids.

The only struggle took place at 80 km/h (49.7 mph), although the consensus was that had the tires been in better shape at that point, the car would have probably aced proceedings at that speed as well.

Last but not least came the slalom course, where the Q8 showed limited body roll, another rare trait when it comes to this segment.

The model being tested was a 50 TDI quattro version, riding on 285/45 R21 Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 tires. Despite weighing more than 2.2 tons (4,400 lbs), the Q8 50 TDI can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.3 seconds, before maxing out at 245 km/h (152 mph).
