Already available in many countries around the world, the new Hyundai Veloster will reach British shores in February 2012 with a starting price of £17,995 on the road and an insurance group rating of 16E.

The 1+2 door Hyundai model will offer buyers a single engine choice and two main trim levels, base and Sport. The Veloster is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder GDI petrol engine that produces 140-horsepower. It can be combined with a six-speed manual gearbox or Hyundai’s first dual-clutch transmission.

When equipped with Hyundai’s Blue drive technologies including the Intelligent Stop & Go system and low rolling resistance tires, the Veloster returns CO2 emissions of 137g/km and a combined fuel economy of 47.9mpg UK.

The base model’s standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-in. Touch screen media centre with capability of playing games through consoles and films from smart phones, Bluetooth Connectivity with voice recognition, climate control air conditioning, reversing sensors, front and rear fog lights and LED daytime running lights.

An RDS Radio/CD Player with MP3/WMA compatibility and an iPod connection is also standard.

The Sport model adds 18-inch alloy wheels with colour inserts, black leather upholstery with heated front seats, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, a panoramic sunroof with tilt and slide function, cruise control and aluminum pedals.
