Tesla’s Referral Program is on its way out, and before the various perks are dropped from its offerings, the company has given its customers a deadline to select the prizes they may be eligible to receive.
Teslarati reports that prizes must be selected by February 28. After this date, Tesla customers eligible for rewards will no longer be able to get their prizes.
When recently announcing that the Referral Program was going to end, Tesla initially set a prize collection date for April 1.
The Tesla referral program rewards owners whose friends, families, and colleagues purchase a new Tesla by using a special code. The prizes vary depending on how many referrals an owner secures. The top prize is a free Tesla Roadster Founders Series, which is restricted to owners who refer 50 new customers to the electric automaker.
There are a number of other cool prizes. For example, SpaceX can launch a personal photo of yours into deep space orbit, you can get forged wheels for the Model 3, receive priority access to vehicle software updates, benefit from invitations to Tesla unveilings, and get a Founder Series Powerwall 2 for free.
Tesla hasn’t specified why it has moved the deadline for prize selection forward, but it’s likely because doing so will ease pressure on the company’s ongoing rollout of the Model 3.
