After putting on a special Valentine’s Day livery for their 2019 Formula 1 car reveal last week, Alfa Romeo Racing has now unveiled the official livery with which it will race throughout this upcoming season.
Visually, the car definitely looks more striking than last year’s Sauber, now combining the latter’s white and blue colors with Alfa Romeo’s traditional red, while also adding special branding on top of the engine cover to honor the Giulia and Stelvio production models.
The unveiling took place today, ahead of this season’s first official practice session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
“We are proud to present the Alfa Romeo Racing C38 – a car which is the result of the important work of each member of our team, at our factory in Switzerland as well as at the track,” said Team boss Frederic Vasseur. “The livery brings out last year’s features in a stronger and more edgy way. We are proud to display the logos of our partners, who have joined us in the scope of the expansion of our commercial activities, on these cars.”
Meanwhile, new addition to the Alfa Romeo Racing team, Antonio Giovinazzi, also praised the new look of the car, stating: “I think it is a beautiful car – the design of the livery is great, very clean, and I like the colors a lot,” a sentiment also echoed by Kimi Raikkonen, who said “the car looks great, the livery design is nice.”
“A lot of partners have joined to support this team which is a positive, and we thank them for believing in us. I look forward to getting on track now and learning more about the C38 during the next two weeks of testing,” concluded the veteran F1 driver.
For this upcoming season, Alfa Romeo Racing will hope to build on Sauber’s performance last year, when the team finished eighth in the Constructors championship with 48 points, just 4 points shy of Force India and 14 points behind McLaren.
