While some people remember the North American Falcon as that really old Ford that was completely outshined by the Mustang, others still look fondly upon second-generation cars, which were produced between 1964 and 1965.
Unlike the first and third-gen models, the 2nd-gen Falcon featured a more squared-off styling, which sort of made them look a little more sporty, especially the 2-door Coupe version.
Has this one seen better days?
Even though this particular car, posted to Reddit by Rat-Rod-Bob-Builds, isn’t necessarily something you’d like to use for a leisure-focused Sunday drive, it definitely looks like it means business in a straight line, although we have no way of knowing whether it’s all show and no go since we don’t have access to any specs.
Mods seem to include a lowered ride height, custom wheels, thicker tires at the rear, an enlarged front wheel arch, side exhausts and a custom-built engine with what we assume is a large supercharger on top. Still, strictly visually, all signs point to this Falcon being something that should feel right at home on the drag strip.
As for the bodywork in general, while it could definitely use some more attention, we could also make a case in favor of leaving it just as it is, despite the fact that this apocalyptic “I’ve been through hell and back” type of aesthetic isn’t for everyone.
