A Ferrari California has almost been sliced in half after a crash in Johannesburg, South Africa.
IOL News reports that the accident happened over the weekend in Sandton. While the crash left the Italian exotic a complete mess, both the male driver and female passenger somehow survived.
According to the authorities, the driver of the California lost control of the car while driving in the wet. The vehicle then speared off the road and slammed into a large steel lamp post, almost tearing off the front of the Ferrari.

Based on the images available, it looks like the passenger’s side took the brunt of the impact. One of the wheels and its suspension components and brake parts have been torn from the chassis of the Ferrari. The front bumper, quarter panels, and hood are also ripped out. The only part of the front half that seems to have stayed in place is the car’s V8 engine.
Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst says that the driver escaped without injuries and the female passenger was taken to hospital after sustaining only moderate injuries.
While it’s sad to see the life of a Ferrari California cut tragically short, we’re glad both the driver and his passenger made it out of this extremely severe crash alive.
