Yes, it’s a rendering and yes, it was inevitable, so, without further ado, say hello to the Bugatti La Voiture Noire Roadster.
This digital interpretation of Bugatti’s one-off hypercar is the work of AksyonovNikita who, besides chopping off its roof, has also changed the glossy black look of the exterior with a blue theme. Guess that makes it the Voiture Bleu now if we want to be accurate. The wheels also have brown accents and the interior has been re-trimmed using a similar shade.
We’re pretty sure there are wealthy customers out there who would gladly pay for their own ‘Black Car’, but Bugatti is adamant this is a one-off, which also rules out a Roadster variant. The automaker will, however, launch another convertible in the future, and while we wouldn’t hold our breath for the Divo just yet, the Chiron is thought to be the most likely candidate. It’s been rumored that the Chiron Roadster will follow after the track-focused SS, and if that is correct, then the company will keep launching new hypercars based on the same underpinnings for a few more years.
All of them will use the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. For the time being, output is capped at 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. However, with rivals launching more powerful hypercars, Bugatti might be tempted to tune the W16 up a notch. – and, who knows, maybe even go for a top speed run.
