In Hall 6 of the Frankfurt Motor Show, a specially designed 760-square-meter area with multiple terrains will host Jeep’s new models for the 64th IAA. Chief among them is the fastest and most powerful model Jeep has ever produced: the Grand Cherokee SRT8 that will make its debut on European soil.

Powered by the Chrysler Group’s new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that produces 465HP and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 255 km/h (159 mph).

The V8 features an improved Fuel Saver Technology system than operates over a wider rpm range, resulting in a 13% improvement in highway consumption and a 720 km (447.7 miles) maximum driving range.

The Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be available in Europe in the first quarter of 2012 in a single specification level that includes a lowered suspension with active damping, a satellite navigation system, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitoring system, steering-wheel mounted paddles and a 825-Watt Harman Kardon audio system.

Jeep will also present the 285HP 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that replaces the old 3.8 unit in the three- and five-door Wrangler models. The V6 will be available with either a five-speed auto or, for the first time, a six-speed manual transmission.

Alongside the petrol edition of the Wrangler will be the new 200HP 2.8-liter turbo diesel with auto stop/start technology and the Arctic special edition based on the Sahara model, in Bright Silver White color.
