‘Crossback’ means ‘SUV’ in DS slang, and with the unveiling of the DS3 Crossback in 2018, the French brand has a direct rival to the likes of the Audi Q2 and Mini Countryman.
It features a lot of technology both inside and out, from the pop-out door handles to the semi-autonomous driving feature which, under the right circumstances, allows it to move on its own, without the person sitting behind the wheel intervening.
The tech features are a strong selling point; the interior design is another. The cabin doesn’t resemble anything that’s currently in the market and gets large diamond-shaped buttons that are clearly marked and in a unique overall layout. The touchscreen display sits on top of the dashboard and, despite looking good, is not that intuitive, said AutoTrader who traveled to Nice, France, to test out the DS3 Crossback.

Even on those smooth roads, comfort ride is not one of its strong suits; in fact, the reviewer referred to it as being just ‘okay’. On the plus side, he made another interesting remark: the DS3 Crossback is perhaps the company’s best-driving car. It feels pointy, has a strong grip and the steering is responsive.
Moreover, the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that’s making 155 PS (152 hp / 114 kW) and coupled to a standard eight-speed automatic gearbox gives the car a sporty flair and sounds quite good, too.
So, would the DS3 Crossback pose a real threat to the likes of the Q2 and Countryman and steal some of their customers? Let’s see what the reviewer had to say about it.
