Hyundai debuted the N Performance Car Concept at the ongoing Seoul Motor Show, revealing the most extreme iteration of the Veloster N we’ve seen so far.
The show car is a Veloster N kitted out with a wide range of N Performance parts and bespoke customizations. Most of these parts are set for official release in late 2019 for the Veloster N hot hatch and, later on, the automaker will also launch similar parts for its other models.
Coming back to the N Performance Car on display in Seoul, it’s equipped with 45 customizable parts including 14 driving performance parts such as the lightweight forged wheels, larger brake calipers and brake pads, a high-performance suspension and high-performance tires.
Hyundai N also fitted 11 exterior style parts including carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, diffuser, and a rear wing spoiler. The show car also features custom bumpers and a hood scoop. Rounding off the exterior upgrades is the matte gray paint with Hyundai N’s orange accents across the mirror caps, bumpers, and side skirts.
The assortment of carbon fiber parts makes the show car 30 kg (66 lbs) lighter than the standard Veloster N. However, the 2.0-liter turbo engine doesn’t feature any upgrades, so it’s still putting out 271 hp (275 PS) and 378 Nm (279 lb-ft) of torque.
The interior wasn’t left untouched, though — quite the contrary. There are 20 different parts in the cabin that feature either Alcantara or carbon fiber. These include the sport bucket seats, steering wheel, parking brake, pillars, headliner, and dashboard, among others.
As with the i30-based Hyundai N Option Concept unveiled at the Paris Auto Show last year, the N Performance Car is a sign of things to come from the N Performance parts lineup that will be rolled out across the lineup in the future. The parts and accessories will be available both for Hyundai N performance cars and regular models.
