Eagle-eyed Carscoop reader Michael from Germany is always on the lookout for any new cars and prototypes on the road. His latest catch is the freshly revealed MINI Coupe in a blue suit with silver stripes, while he also seized a couple of shots of the new BMW 1-Series hatchback, both of which were spotted in Munich.

The new MINI Coupe was only just unveiled online a couple of days ago, so we assume the car pictured is most likely an early production version used for testing.

The strictly two-seat model from MINI is due to go on sale in the beginning of fall offering buyers a choice of four powertrains through the Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper SD and John Cooper Works models. Unsurprisingly, the frugal 143-horsepower Cooper SD diesel will not be available in the States.

The BMW Group’s second new model is the 2012 1-Series hatchback, which was unwrapped earlier this month. The five door model introduces an evolved styling language and more importantly, the new for the BMW brand 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine available in two states of tune, with 136-horses (116i) and 170-HP (118i).

Kudos to Michael for the photos!
